Poetry Workshop - Fran Quinn and Li-Young Lee

Li-Young Lee and Fran Quinn will be offering a monthly poetry workshop running a weekend long starting September 4-6, 2009 and continuing the first weekend of each month. They will be structured so that you can take any one or all of them.

The workshop limit will be 15 and will follow the model used by Fran Quinn's Poetry of Voice, Poetry of Silence workshops.

Participants will be asked to send us as many as 15 poems, giving us an idea of what you are doing with your writing. These are not used for admitting or eliminating anyone from the workshops, but helping us to make sure we accomplish our goal of advancing our poetry by going in directions we have not taken yet.

We would also ask that with the poetry you also send us a phone number so we can phone you and get to know what your voice does in ordinary conversation and how that can give us clues to a new part of your voice you need to bring into your work.

Because the Chicago workshop is going to have two teachers rather than one The price will be $350.

Friday: 7-9 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM-6:30 PM
Sunday: one hour individual meeting by appointment
